Our Company
While our designs have a global influence and take inspiration from all corners of the world, Bramble manufactures its furniture, upholstery, and lighting in our own factory in Java. Using state-of-the-art technology with traditional woodworking methods, every element of our furniture is the product of genuine craftsmanship. Superior quality wood is cut to size and dried in our on-site kiln. The wood then travels through our 17-acre factory where each piece is carved and finished entirely by hand.
Design Process
Quality Standards
Our belief has always been to build up to a standard instead of down to a price. We believe that we should go above and beyond what is expected in the industry and never sacrifice quality for profit.
Materials
Our furniture is constructed using primarily solid wood mahogany, natural hardwoods, and high-grade veneers. We use only solid brass hardware beveled glass in our products.
Construction
Our drawers are always constructed with dovetail joints. For all of our open cabinets, we use a superior tongue-and groove backing technique made entirely from solid wood.
Artistry & Craftsmanship
We employ over 1,000 master craftsmen that have a deep understanding of woodworking techniques that were passed down from generation to generation. Each Bramble piece is carved, chiseled and painted by hand.
No Harmful Chemicals
The health and wellbeing of our artisans are at top of our list of priorities and this goes onto the health and well being of everyone with Bramble Furniture products in their homes. We guarantee the use of eco-friendly properties which includes toxic free paint and water based lacquers in our finishes.
Bramble Tree Planting
Since 2005, we have planted over 2,000,000 diverse trees that benefit local communities. It is our commitment to leave more than we have taken for future generations.
Sustainability
Bramble is committed to operating sustainably and minimizing our ecological footprint wherever possible. It is our policy to source mahogany exclusively from forests where felling is controlled by the government and guaranteed to have sustainable regulations.
Tree Planting
We started planting trees locally in Java in 2005. It was always our intention to plant trees that would produce diverse forests that would benefit the environment instead of tree farms intended to be cut down again.
We continue to support a number of nurseries that nurture new seedlings by the thousands. Once the seedlings are ready to make their way out into the world, we provide the funds and the manpower to see them through to planting.
Many of the trees that we plant often bear fruit and other valuable byproducts. Because of this, we regularly see local villagers incentivized to nurture the saplings beyond adulthood. Since we started our tree-planting operation in 2005, we have planted over 2,500,000 trees. It is our goal to plant at least one tree for every piece of furniture that we make.
Recognition
In Indonesia, we are proud to have been recognized as the largest corporate tree planting operation by the Indonesian Records Museum. In the US, Bramble is a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council.
